Yggdrasil är asagudarnas världsträd. I trädets topp bor örnen Hräsvelg. Minihjortar betar i trädets krona. Draken Nidhögg gnager på Yggdrasils rötter. Ekorren Ratatosk skuttar upp och nedför stammen med skvaller mellan ovännerna Hräsvelg och Nidhögg.
Animationen projiceras på en stor skulptur av Yggdrasil. Se den på utställningen Vikingarnas värld, Historiska museet, Stockholm.
Yggdrasil is the giant cosmic ash tree of the Asa gods. The giant eagle Hräsvelg creates the winds from his wings. Mini deers graze in the tree crown. The squirrel Ratatosk jumps up and down the trunk with gossip between the enemies Nidhögg and Hräsvelg.
